Ashley Mehta delivered two absolutely captivating performances opening for MICO on May 11th at the Brighton Music Hall in Boston, MA. Having attended the shows excited to see MICO and his band perform and not really knowing too much about Ashley and the genre of music she performs, I can confidently say that I left a genuine fan of her music, to the point that it has claimed a spot in most of my daily playlists. Songs like “Simmer” and “Kissing Isn’t Compromise” have quite literally been living rent free in my head the last few weeks.
Beyond that, being that I got lucky enough to meet Ashley and chat with her for a bit after both shows, I can say that she is one of the most genuine people and you can feel the passion she has for her music. She’s always happy to sit down and talk to her fans and take pictures with them, and the best part is that the interactions never feel forced, it’s always genuine. Between her interactive style of performing, her catchy lyrics, and some of the stickiest melodies I’ve come across recently, it’s safe to say that she deserves every bit of attention she’s getting right now and it is most definitely only uphill from here.
